  1. Enhanced the installation script to allow a user specified path to override the default installation path.
  2. Fixed a circumstance that allowed the creation of an incomplete object when an unstroked shape was given a stroke weight on some, but not all vertices.
  3. Updated the file reader to correct any existing incomplete objects on the fly.
  4. Fixed a condition that allowed shapes to be added to a locked or invisible layer.

  1. Improved the launch response of dragged selections.
  2. Removed all interior spacing to reduce the size of the toolbar
  3. Made the rulers thinner by lowering horizontal axis text, and making vertical axis text columnar.
  4. Fixed the expose problem while displaying multiple documents.
  5. Reimplemented backingstore. Now includes a warning if not enabled on the server.
  6. Restored click and double-click gestures on an existing selection, (broken in last release).
  7. Fixed crash from select behind (ALT-click) gesture. (Not visible to most since KDE intercepts ALT-click as move, unless changed in the KDE configuration tool).
  8. Added an error dialog instead of crashing when a helper app, such as Gimp, or the 3D editor are missing.
  9. Fixed the absence of transparency recognition in ShadeGuides using Mesa.
  10. Fixed a bug that prevented a brush style from updating after a stroke weight change.
  11. Fixed a bug in bucket and eye dropper tools that caused them to prevent attribute changes in certain selections.
  12. Fixed problem that prevented the dialog for the perspective filter from being visible.
  13. Enabled corner tool while in object selection mode as well as vertex selection mode.
  14. Fixed former Linux incompatibility in the scatter filter.

  1. Repaired incorrect background color in Object Manager and Text justification window.
  2. Provided more thorough specifications for palette and menu fonts.
  3. Eliminated backingstore dependencies, and corrected some double-buffer update errors.
  4. Fixed the failure to draw a 0.0 (hairline) weight line. Now drawn as a non-scaling line at the minimum width of the device.
  5. Fixed several minor memory management problems.
  6. Fixed mismatched display of default origin on Transform Palette.
  7. Fixed problem switching out of coarse draw mode after dragging pan or zoom.
  8. Fixed dithering problem during rubber banding with OpenGL/non-Mesa libraries.
  9. Updated sample documents to use URW fonts, supplied with Linux, as opposed to Adobe fonts supplied with Irix.

  1. Fixed the shape transformation palette for brush styles.
  2. Fixed an intermittent error with text selection, and with display of text blocks.
  3. Fixed problem found on right edge of certain raster renders.
  4. Added explicit warning in the absence of the required 24bpp visual.
  5. Fixed bug in convert text to path where the highlights were not correctly scaled.
  6. Fixed and submitted the fix for a significant problem in Mesa libGLU for version 3.2 and later. However, as of this writing it has not been included in the Mesa repository. The absence of this fix still impacts many features of Artstream, so watch for Mesa libGLU updates later than Feb 18.
  7. Built and verified under RedHat 6.1.
  8. Now available for use in demo mode without a license.

Artstream 2.0b10-1

  1. Document Save dialogs now have expected error and question dialogs.
  2. Assorted font fixes in the GUI.
  3. Removed a startup complaint about the absence of overlay planes.
  4. Activated double buffering in the canvas, which provided a significant speed improvement.
  5. Fixed the problem that prevented a placed image from updating after modification by an external raster editor, invoked by double-clicking on the image.
  6. Added a dialog box that provides a better explanation when the font database has not been generated.
  7. Palette visibility flags are now saved on exit.
  8. Removed Mesa dependency that interfered with support of SGI compliant OpenGL.
  9. Corrected a color icon that had failed to update in the paint palette.
