11. Output

Any or all of the pages in the current document can be output with the File->Print option in the File menu.

The Print option launches the Print dialog show below.

All Prints all of the pages in the document
Current Prints the page coenciding with the upper left of the view.
Range Print the range from the accompanying input box. Selections can be separated by commas sets can be indicated by hyphens. For example "1,5,7-10,14" prints pages 1,5,7,8,9,10 & 14. Also recognizes key words "odd" and "even", and the symbol "&" for "until end of document"
Print blank pages Enable/disable printing of any blank pages in the selected range.
Include non-printing items Enable/disable printing of items assigned the "non-printing" attribute.
Registration marks Print color registration marks on the edges of each image or separation.
Crop marks Prints crop marks at the corners of each image or separation.
Separation names Include the cyan, magenta, yellow, and black labels on when separations are requested.
File name and date Print the file name and date outside the margin of the image.
Orientation Sets portrait or landscape orientation.
Destination Assigns output to a file, which later prompts for an output path, or to the printer assigned by Impressario.
Copies Sets the number of copies when output is sent to a printer.
Format

Choose from many PDL (vector) and raster output formats.

Available PDL formats are:

  • PostScript
  • PDF
  • HTML
  • OpenGL

  • Raster formats are based on the installation. A full list can be obtained by the Unix shell command "imgformats".

    Additional raster options are:

    Dpi For raster formats, assigns the output resolution to be applied to all pages in range.
    Anti-alias level For raster formats, allows the selection of a range of anti-aliasing (edge smoothing) in certain increments from none to 66, where none is fastest and 66 is slowest.
    Color Model

    For select raster formats, enables format dependent color models. For example TIFF format allows:

  • RGB Indexed (Palette)
  • Luminance
  • Luminance Alpha
  • Negative
  • RGB
  • RGBA
  • CMY
  • CMYK
  • Compression

    For select raster formats, enables format dependent compression techniques. For example TIFF format allows:

  • No Compression
  • CCITTFax3
  • CCITTFax4
  • LZW
  • JPEG
  • Packbits
