DynaLens Tutorial
Assigment of a Lens to selected shapes
1) Copy a shape, or create a new shape for a lens. In this example we copy an existing shape.
Select the shape to be copied for a lens.
2) Paste the selected shape in front of the shapes to be viewed through the lens.

3) Select all the shapes that will be viewed through the lens. Here it is easiest to select all shapes in the area with a marquise select, then deselect the background and the text, which are to be excluded from the lens.
Select the area to be viewed under the lens.

Deselect the shapes to be excluded from the lens.

4) With the shape for the lens as the topmost shape, make a lens group from all the selections.

Initially, both a mask and a lens are created. Here all the shapes to be viewed through the lens are also behind the mask.

5) To assign specific properties to the lens, including the removal of the mask, select only the lens shape. The lens options then appear under the Fill attributes of the Paint palette.
Remove the mask property from the lens.

6) Add one or more vector and/or raster lens properties. Here we use the vector Transform lens to scale and offset all shapes under the lens to give them a refracted, underwater appearance.
Select one of the Mediascape supplied vector lenses. The Transform lens allows vector transformations, (scale, rotate and offset), of shapes under the lens.

7) Assign the parameters to the Transform Lens. Here we apply a slight magnification (1.1X), and a slight offset (1.1 both horizontal and vertical).

The result of the lens. The properties of the lens can be changed at any time by double clicking on the lens name in the list of active lenses for a given shape.
