Inspired by artist David Cerny’s work in Prague, meant to show a vendor’s ability to restore order from confusion, we built a miniature kinetic sculpture of a comparable head that spun from seeming incoherence, back to the recognizable shape for a trade show in Vegas. Our virtual proof of concepts, and functional simulations allowed a precise fabrication plan. That enabled our build of this orchestrated glide from scrambled to serene from scratch in just over 2 weeks, (leaving much of our crew familiar with such a transition).
Along with implementing the applicable motors, gearing and other structures, we also included logic to allow adjustments of speed and dwell times to ensure head turns at the proper moments.
